    Metodologie didattiche

    Course objectives

    The teaching aims
    - To provide knowledge of the statistical tools for data collection and analysis.
    - To enable the student to understand and make appropriate use of the main statistical methods used in science, functional to the disciplines which characterize the degree course.
    - To provide practical experience on examples of real data through exercises.
In particular, the course aims to make students able to: describe a data set, use the basic tools of probability, make statistical inference of continuous and discrete variables highlighting the usefulness of statistical techniques for the empirical analysis in the various disciplines that characterize the degree course.

    Prerequisites

    Basic Mathematics Skills are fundamental.
The exam of mathematics for the economy is preparatory to statistics.

    Teaching methods

    Teaching methods.
The teaching is organised as follow:
    - Lectures, during which the teacher presents the course topics and looks for to capture student interest, by presenting examples, by asking for and answering questions.
    - Exercises conducted by the teacher during which we analyze real and simulated data.
    - Exercises carried out by students with supervision of the teacher during which students analyze a statistical problem in order to use the most appropriate statistical techniques presented during the course.
    - Individual study: textbooks, slides and exercises useful to the development of the autonomous learning are suggested to students.
